How are you currently staying connected to your UVA Community?<\/strong>
\nI stay connected to the UVA community through my role on the Young Alumni Council, where I currently serve as the Co-Chair of Alumni Engagement. I work to strengthen relationships between alumni and the university by supporting initiatives, events, and opportunities that keep graduates meaningfully engaged with UVA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What does BAW<\/abbr> mean to me?<\/strong>
\nBlack Alumni Weekend is a meaningful time to come together and reconnect with friends and family. It\u2019s a celebration of the shared experiences and lasting memories we\u2019ve created\u2014whether in academic settings, social spaces, extracurricular activities, or through the journey of life since our time on Grounds. It\u2019s an opportunity to celebrate the legacy and impact of Black alumni, and those connected to us, from the University of Virginia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What student activities were you involved with during your time on-Grounds?
\n<\/strong>While I was on-Grounds, I was a Ridley Scholar and was involved in the Theta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, and National Pan-Hellenic Council leadership. I also was on the teaching team for LPPL 2100: The Resilient Student and lived on the Lawn (my favorite thing ever).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What does BAW<\/abbr> mean to you?<\/strong>
\nBAW<\/abbr> is a time to gather with old friends and make new ones in the place that we have in common. BAW<\/abbr> brings us back to commune for a moment not fraught with all the problems of the world. We lean on each other, catch up, congratulate or commiserate, and hug the hope back into each other. BAW<\/abbr> renews my spirit\u2026every<\/em> time!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What does BAW<\/abbr> mean to you?<\/strong>
\nBAW<\/abbr> is an amazing opportunity to serve alumni as well as to touch the undergraduate population. It is a reminder to me that I met people from many different places that helped expand my thinking. BAW<\/abbr> is also an opportunity to connect with younger alums that I would not otherwise connect with.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
