Coming to UVA was a huge adjustment for me, and there were times when I genuinely felt like giving up. But the Ridley Scholarship Program changed that story. Ridley gave me community, support, and a sense of belonging that carried me through every high and low. It became more than a scholarship—it became my home and truly the reason I stayed at UVA. I am endlessly thankful for the scholars, directors, and board members who poured into me. The connections I’ve built and the memories I’ve made through this program are priceless. I’ll cherish every laugh we shared, every moment of encouragement, and every reminder that I wasn’t alone. I love this community, and I mean it when I say Ridley shaped who I am and who I’m becoming. This program pushed me to grow, kept me grounded, and reminded me I had a family here. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the love, support, and belief I received from this community. One day, I hope to give back—even serve on the board—so future scholars feel the same love, support, and belonging that carried me to this moment. Ridley will forever be a part of me always.
