This new award for UVA student veterans provides financial support for enrichment programs (e.g. summer courses, study abroad, internships, conferences) not covered by GI Bill benefits. With an award up to $5,000, the Hoos Honoring Veterans Award seeks student veterans from any UVA undergraduate school and have a recommended minimum GPA of 3.2. Recipients with a GPA less than 3.2 will be considered but should explain the extenuating circumstances concerning their GPA in the written application. Preference is given to student veterans, but students from military families are also invited to apply.
