Meet our College Compass Connection Mentors! In this rapid-fire interview, hear from Ainsley P. (Col class of ’26), a Legal History major (with minors in Public Public and Foreign Affairs) from Charlotte, North Carolina.

What is your favorite spot on Grounds, and why does it feel special to you?
The Cocke Hall Philosophy library! At any given time there are only four or five students inside, and you are surrounded by old philosophy books while looking out over the amphitheater.
My favorite spot to study is…
The McIntire School of Commerce Reading Room!
My favorite class or professor has been…
Disease, Medicine, and Health in African History with Dr. La Fleur!
What is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you before your first day at UVA?
One piece of advice I wish someone had given me is that you do not have to have everything figured out right away. It’s easy to feel like everyone else already knows their major, their friend group, or their summer internship, but everything good takes time. Just be yourself and your people will come to you!
